Bothell, Washington, a true free spirit, has transcended unto the next
plane on April 21, 2004 to pre-ride the most beautiful journey of all. A memorial service was held Saturday, April 24, 2004 at 1:00pm in Everett, Washington, and was attended by her family and a few of her friends (more than 200) whose lives she enriched beyond explanation. |

"I can see the two of us, holding hands and walking far into the future to a now and distant journey of unbelievable happiness. I love you and want you to be mine until the earth stands still and the sun grows dark with age. I'm completely and totally head over heels in love with you, and I will be forever and ever and ever...." Pete Brewer |

Thanks for the opportunity to submit
something to you and please let all your fellow bikers know that we know
how great you were to Sue and to her family.
First, my wife Sharon always takes pleasure on reflecting how
proud we were watching her receive a new sewing machine after winning
first prize in a 4H dress making event with the Strafford County N.H.4H.
She made a fantastically beautiful dress. One of my favorite
memories is her first day of school. I was planning to go in to work
late so I could take her. But, as it was safe in those days to walk, she
would have nothing to do with me or anyone going with her.
About a 7 or 8 minute walk. And
away she went with her pencil box in hand.
I think that was an indication of how she was going to take
charge of her own business all the rest of her life.
Ken Ames I was just thankful I got to meet Sue. Though her and I had a very short conversation with a few laughs I will remember that forever. I love her smiles and sparkle in her eyes, and her disposition was a given for others to witness and practice. I am still in shock and am missing her but know she is in good hands with God and his angels and is still all around us with her love. I will always remember her at Christmas time, wearing that beautifully festive sweater. Sue and
Pete were having a Luau party at their home, and while talking with Sue,
she made me feel like mine was the only voice she could hear. Sue had a loving nature, a quick wit, a knack for decorating and giving parties. She always had a hug for me and made me feel like a special friend. I'll always remember how she told a story with her hands, that sexy twist of her hips and her bright smile. God has truly received a special angel. I'm missing you. Sue was very kind to me. I cant remember ever seeing her without a smile. When we loose a loved one it is comforting to know that they are truly in a better place. Life here on earth is only a temporary assignment. I know that she is at peace. I will pray for Pete to be strong as I know he will miss her. Sue was the sweetest lady and a wonderful friend. I will miss her beautiful smiling face. She had a way of touching your heart and you had no choice but to love her instantly. We'll miss her spirit. Even though the times that we saw Pete & Sue were few and far apart, it was always nice to see the connection and love between them. Our thoughts and prayers are with Pete, and Sue will always be missed. We will miss Sue and will always remember her smile and her willingness to help with anything, no questions asked. The happiness that she and Pete shared was obvious to everyone they met. Our thoughts and love go out to Pete. With a guardian angel as wonderful as Sue, Pete couldn't be in better hands. Goodbye for now, Sue. I can't remember a time when Sue didn't have a smile on her face. She was a very warm and caring person. It's comforting to know that she is in a better place now. My thoughts and prayers are with her and all of her loved ones. I had no idea how many wonderful friends my sister Sue has! I still cry and miss her terribly, but reading and hearing all the special memories, knowing she touched your hearts in return makes this cry a happy, heartfelt cry. She is a guardian angel to us all! Love to all. You didn't have to know Sue long to know she was an Angel. She always had a smile on her face. I will miss her laughter and the way she looked at Pete when he got out of hand. She will be missed dearly by all her friends and family. Ride on Sue, god bless. Sue and I were friends for over 30 years. We lost track of each other over the years and the internet brought us back together. Renewing our friendship was truly one of the joys of my life. Sue came to see me when she was back in New England - she told me how happy and in love she was with Pete. She shared with me many stories of her biking friends and trips they had taken - I had never seen her happier. My heart aches for what we have all lost. She was truly a special person. Sue was a wonderful big sister. She always gave of herself whenever my family needed anything. She was there for my boys when they were little...babysat Jake when he was still an only child, and rocked Steve for hours when he came along. We were all sad that Auntie Sue was leaving when she moved from Maine to Oregon...happy for her as she was following her dream, but sad for ourselves since she would no longer be a daily staple in our home. Sue always remained close though, through surprise gift packages, phone calls, and emails. I wish I had been able to spend more time with her in the 9 years since she moved, but I'm thankful for the time that we did share. We remained close in heart. I miss her dearly now and "in the future" when I know I'll want to pick up the phone to share something with her, only to remember that I can no longer reach her by those means, but I find comfort knowing that she's still with us in spirit. Thank you all for sharing your thoughts and memories of Sue. I'm also thankful that she had all of you in her life...her family away from home! When I first met
Sue, she was riding on the back of Pete’s bike. She called herself
Fender Fluff but we all knew better. With all the bravado of Pete, she
had her hands full taming him. Sue entered our group wanting to
contribute and make the experience something special for everyone around
her. Being an Officer and leader within the chapter took many hours of
her time after work but she loved Pete and all that came with him. Many
times, she opened her house after a ride or just has a party for chapter
friends just because. Sue was the entertainer. Her parting leaves an
empty spot in all those she touched. I can only hope she could be my
road angel sometime. |
