Chapter activities are conducted primarily for the benefit of H.O.G. chapter members. There are three categories of activities, all activities are identified as follows:

Closed events are those chapter events which are open to chapter members and one guest per member.

Member events are events that are open only to H.O.G. members

Open events are those chapter events which are open to chapter members, national H.O.G. members and other guests as desired.

If you are interested in becoming a H.O.G. chapter member, contact Great Northwest Harley Owners Group.

Chapter Rides are usually scheduled for the first Saturday and the third Sunday of each month.  There are exceptions, so check the HOG Call newsletter or visit this website for updates and details.

Note: Non-GNWHOG chapter events that may be of interest to members are occasionally listed here and are shown: italicized and in this color.

Note:  RC = Road Captain, RCIT = Road Captain in Training

P&P are Prince and Princess rides sponsored by LOH.  These are skills workshop type rides, usually in a parking lot where we won't run into cars and drivers who don't understand. P&P is for all riders. Skills include emergency stops, s- l- o- w ride (no feet down) circles (turns) or any skill you feel needs to be improved on. As weather improves we may change when and where we go.

Sep 1 - Sat - Chapter Ride - Dam Brown Bag Rocky Ride - 9:00 AM Harley Davidson of Seattle Departure
Dee (Primary) & Dave (Sweep) We'll be heading East to Cashmere on Hwy 2, where we'll stop for gas and lunch food at Subway/ grocery store. Then it's on to Rocky Reach Dam for our picnic lunch and tour. There is a nice visitor center, lots of parking and a great lawn for laying in the sun. Those wishing to, may, end the ride here (going back the way we came; it's approximately 280 miles total).  For the rest of us, the ride will head north and hookup with Hwy 20 for the ride home. The full round trip is approximately 400 miles. Most of the ride is on state highway roads with speeds in the 60 mph range. This is not necessarily a ride I recommend for new riders. Stops will be limited. If you like putting on the miles, laughing & having fun please join us for some wonderful spring scenery and "East of the Mountains" sunshine.

Sep 9 - Sun - Ride For Kids

This picture was drawn for us by Nick and his mom who came to a chapter meeting

the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation, and is an honorary member of the chapter.

At this time of the year it should be an even nicer ride to the top. The trip to the destination will take about 3 hours, depending how much we screw around. The Destination Highways-Washington, rates this ride an 81.3 out of 100.  (Scoring 30 of 30 for Twistiness)  We will be taking the Ferry and there will be a Park Entrance Fee so bring money for the ferry and the park entrance fee.

Tim (Primary) & Patt (Sweep)…..The annual Sue Ames Memorial Crazy Helmet Ride.   The ride departs 9:00 from HD of Seattle rain or shine.  We will travel south to Shilshole Bay through Ballard and on to the U-District.  From the U-District to Sandpoint to Bothell.  This ride gives everyone a chance to exhibit their creative and silly side while remembering our lost sister.  Be prepared to get stared at, pointed at and bring smiles to many passing motorists and pedestrians.  It's always a great time.  Last year quite a few coffee stops were needed due to inclement weather.  But no worries - it's always a blast.

November 2007

Nov 3 - Sat - Chapter Ride - 9:00 AM Harley Davidson of Seattle Departure
Brian (RCIT) Rick (Primary) & Russ (Sweep)…..This is the planned destination but changes in direction do happen.  The autumn colors should provide some beautiful scenery in any direction.  If the Falls is the final decision, it will be a nice leisurely ride through the valley and over the river to the Falls.  With the snow level dropping almost daily this maybe as far east that can be traveled this time of year but dress warmly and join the ride!

Nov 18 - Sun - Chapter Ride - 10:00 AM Harley Davidson of Seattle Departure - Museum of Flight  ride
Linda (Primary) & Tim (Sweep)…..there are basically two main routes to the Museum of Flight, Freeway or Hwy 99.  This ride “is” probably more about the destination than the ride but the morning of the ride, I will solicit the participants for route preference.  This is a quick ride “even in the rain” to an interesting location so whether you have been to the museum before or not, I hope you will join Tim & I.

Dec 1 - Sat - Chapter Ride - 10:00 AM Harley Davidson of Seattle Departure
Jeff (Primary) & Dee (Sweep)…..Come ride on the very road that Casey Kahne voted his favorite in "Road and Track" magazine's "favorite driving roads"; the one on which he used to scare the bejeebers out of his high school sweetheart.  Yes, the infamous Mud Mountain Road and unmarked single strip of asphalt winding through some of the prettiest country around.  Lunch will be served at the Mud Mountain Dam by the friendly and courteous staff - i.e. you folks.  This is a "brown bag" affair, with a lunch stop at the dam under their covered picnic area.  And yes, getting there will be half the fun, with our route taking us up the Snoqualmie River valley, down through Maple Valley and even the Green River valley (don't worry ladies, they caught the guy years ago; he'll never paint another truck again...).  So come on out and ride; we are looking at about a 180 mile round trip, getting home in plenty of time for the Christmas party.

No meeting in December.
