P&P are Prince and Princess rides sponsored by LOH. These are skills workshop type rides, usually in a parking lot where we won't run into cars and drivers who don't understand. P&P is for all riders. Skills include emergency stops, s- l- o- w ride (no feet down) circles (turns) or any skill you feel needs to be improved on. As weather improves we may change when and where we go.

Sat - Charity
Ride with Seattle Chapter
I hope you all are tunin' up your bikes for this year's
Chili Buns Run to the Olde Shipwreck Restaurant & Lounge, 1941
Marine View Drive, in Tacoma. We will leave the Cycle Barn at 10:00 am
on January 1st, for the staging at the Alki Tavern in West Seattle at
11:00 am. The price is $10.00, with ride pins for the first 100 people
to the Alki (but don't hold yer breath, says I, unless you get there at
9 am)...but, there will still be chili dogs & coffee. If you made
the run two years ago, it can't get any worse than that...Right,
Cruise?, asks me. Gettin' naked and eatin' chili never tasted so good!!!
I'll never forget that two-lane x 40 ft. puddle...I was spawning salmon
in my boots by the time I was through it...Thanks Russ! There's a 50/50
and music planned. Drive, ride or fly, said the flyer. See you all in
the regular place (the Cycle Barn parking area, for those of you who
need it spelled out). -- Patt

Thu - Resolution Ride IV
There will
be, for the 5th year running, an all makes and all bikes welcome ride on
January 1st called the Resolution Ride V.
We meet at the Buzz Inn up the street at about 10am or so for breakfast
and
a white elephant gift
exchange, and then those present decide on a ride destination based on
who is there, what the weather is doing, etc.
In past years we have gone to Granite Falls, Snoqualmie Falls,
etc. Last year we headed for the eastside and then aborted the run
due to a rare outbreak of common sense when I decided that a ridge of
snow and ice down the middle of the lane was a bad omen - we adjourned
to a Starbuck's in Woodinville and Cycle Barn bought everyone lattes!
Bring a "white elephant" or real gift, (inexpensive)or none.
We will have a gift exchange for those who chose to bring a gift
Details of this year's Resolution Ride will be forthcoming, as soon as I
invent them, but it will be similar to the above

Sat- Cascade Loop Ride
9:00 AM - Cycle Barn. This
ride is a long 400 mile ride day and will be led by Road Captain Lance
with Copilot Ann instructing Lance where to make the proper turns.
Along side of the beauty the Cascade Loop offers, Jeff
will be making sure no one is day dreaming from the back of the pack. If you are
considering this ride, make sure to come prepared with plenty of water and
riding skills that can endure the long road ahead! Note from Lance: Be
prepared for lots of highway miles here. Some on I-5 and most on two lane
highways like #2 and #20. Lots of scenery. We should make about 4 gas stops, and
be prepared for lunch, probably in Winthrop but that is changeable. It will be a
long hard day but well worth it so get plenty of sleep and bring pocket money
for lunch and gas, who knows maybe dinner also but that is not for sure, it just
depends on the day. Lots of riding at the speed limit. Oh yes.. bring a camera.

d'Alene Overnighter
We are again doing our annual Flamingo Motel overnighter in Coeur
d'Alene, ID. Two rides are scheduled to leave from the Cycle Barn-
6AM for you early risers (RC: Anitra),
and 9AM for everyone else (RC: Lance).
For those of you who haven't attended a visit yet, this is a wild weekend at a
small, cozy motel on the strip at the east end of town. The Flamingo Motel
has only 13 rooms, all with separate themes inside. To make your
reservations at the motel, call 800-955-2159, and be sure to let them know you
are member of the Great NW Harley group. Once the chapter has
reached it's destination, you are welcome to discover other parts of northern
Idaho, and western Montana on your own. And you are in charge of yourself
in the streets of Coeur d'Alene's Sherman Avenue at night time- that's where the
party begins. hint: stay away from the Iron Horse's Derailers.
:-)
ATTENTION: If you or someone you know are a new rider (under 3000 miles
on their bike), have never ridden in a GNW group ride or are new to our chapter
and plan on riding this ride, please have contact one of the Road Captains below
for more information about the ride!!!!
This is a ride that is set up for fast freeway speeds reaching 70-75 mph and a
lot of very hot, uncomfortable desert conditions. It may not be a ride for
everyone. We take this ride very seriously for those with any health conditions
that may be compromised. Our Road Captains must be notified of any newer riders
joining the group or anyone with health conditions that may be sensitive to
such conditions. Please...don't blow this off. We want all to have a great time,
but the Road Captains must know ahead of time.
Note from Lance: This will be a fast road trip with
Idaho as the destination. Be prepared for Heat as we mojo at the full speed
limit for a couple hours. Get lots of sleep and make sure you have lots of air
in the tires and oil. We are only stopping for gas and a quick lunch. So be
prepared to ride hard on this one.
Ride safe and thanks for helping your Road Captains make it better for you...

Thu - Resolution Ride IV
There will be, for
the 5th year running, an all makes and all bikes welcome ride on January
1st called the Resolution Ride V.
We meet at the Buzz Inn up the street at about 10am or so for breakfast
and
a white elephant gift
exchange, and then those present decide on a ride destination based on who is
there, what the weather is doing, etc.
In past years we have gone to Granite Falls, Snoqualmie Falls, etc. Last
year we headed for the eastside and then aborted the run due to a rare outbreak
of common sense when I decided that a ridge of snow and ice down the middle of
the lane was a bad omen - we adjourned to a Starbuck's in Woodinville and Cycle
Barn bought everyone lattes!
Details of this year's Resolution Ride will be forthcoming, as soon as I invent
them, but it will be similar to the above
